Why do my cards unlink?

keyboard_arrow_down

If you see a prompt to re-verify your banking credentials, please do so to ensure that your cards are syncing properly for Save.ca Cashback Rewards to award on eligible card-linked offers.

Here are some common reasons why unlinking happens:
1. When logging into your bank, it may ask you a security question. These will typically expire after a session, often when you exit the Save.ca Cashback Rewards website. When sessions expire, this causes unlinking and prompts to relink.

2. Flinks or Yodlee needs to update their integration to support your bank.

3. There may be a prompt on the bank's website that you have to respond to, such as promotional advertisements.

4. Your cards have been replaced and are no longer up-to-date.

My Linked Card Keeps Unlinking - Multi-Factor Authentication Issue

keyboard_arrow_down

If you have successfully linked your bank but it unlinks every few minutes, it's usually due to an MFA issue. Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), also known as Two-Factor Authentication, is implemented for account security.

Since our providers may not always support new security updates, here are some troubleshooting measures:
1. Removing the MFA setting from your bank account temporarily to link the account to Save.ca Cashback Rewards.

2. Relinking your credentials periodically, as MFA security questions rotate and can cause unlinking.

3. Waiting until our providers build support for MFA, allowing you to link this account in the future.

Why Is My Bank Experiencing Connectivity Issues?

keyboard_arrow_down

We understand that connectivity issues can be frustrating. Here are some common reasons why it happens:

1. Ongoing Improvements to Your Bank's Online Banking Website: This requires Flinks or Yodlee to build support for these new features. Improvements are usually resolved within a matter of days, but if the connectivity issues persist, there may be a larger issue at hand.

2. Changes to Your Bank's Internal Systems: Banks may undergo changes to their internal systems, which can temporarily block Flinks or Yodlee from syncing transactions.

3. Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA): If you're constantly being asked to relink your card, it may be that your bank utilizes security questions as a form of MFA, which expires after a session. A session typically ends after exiting the app, prompting you to repeat the linking process.
